MÉTAL GRENIER INC. has developed considerable expertise in manufacturing utility bodies in addition to producing custom interiors for all types of vehicles. A strategic partnership with the French firm ANCO led Métal Grenier to develop a mobile unit for cleaning garbage bins, the North American version of the European garbage bin cleaning truck used by ANCO.
Training centres offer specialized transportation programs to enhance skills within the young workforce. Regional research, technological intelligence and transportation-equipment intelligence centres attest to the advances the Bois-Francs has made in the specialized transportation sector. The presence of the Transportation Equipment and Special Vehicles Manufacturers Association (AMETVS) adds yet another dimension to the region’s leadership in this area.
The Centre integré de formation et d’innovation technologique (CIFIT), a new integrated training and innovation centre, serving as a centre of mechanical and electro-mechanical expertise as well as a research unit, will soon become operational. CIFIT’s mission will be to meet the high-level requirements of companies in the machinery, transportation equipment, and electronics sectors, while further strengthening the ties between companies and training institutions in this major business sector of the Bois-Francs.
